Being green and eco-friendly product enthusiast myself, I am really moved by the eco-friendly initiative taken by the sheer number of people around the world, that encouraged me to write this blog down. I do genuinely believe that a product like a palm leaf cutlery can be of great value addition to the disposable cutlery segment mainly due to its 100% natural and biodegradable nature thereby displacing the use of most forms of plastics soon.  This blog is a 7-10 min read and answers almost all questions that you may possibly have so as to make an informed decision about our products, various shipping options and the how’s of getting it to your desired destination at optimum cost without compromising on quality. I, along with my entire team work tirelessly to ensure a sizable increase in such product awareness, distribution and consumption around the world thereby creating substantial financial value to our channel partners, customers and investors along the journey and contributing to the green revolution.

We have been exporting to all of North America, Europe, GCC Countries and South East Asian countries actively.
Packaging customization refers to a custom label printed and stuck on top of each pack. This includes brand names, logos, UPC Codes/Barcodes. Yes, we do offer complete packaging customisation. The suggested size of design for a custom packaging (brand sticker) stuck on the package of the product is A7 Size(L = 2.9inches; Height = 4.1 inches). A larger A6(L = 4.1 inches; Height = 5.8 inches) size can also be used for larger plates (size 10inches only).
We sell often to a lot of customers who sell on Amazon FBA’s in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Germany, Italy. We know the protocol, so you may rest assured.
Yes, we do. Our standard sample set consists of 20+ varieties of Palm leaf cutleries including plates, cups, bowls and wooden/birchwood spoons, forks, knives and skewers in multiple sizes. Kindly whatsapp us @ +91-8056779012 to avail the samples free. You may either arrange for a pickup from our factory by sharing your DHL/FedEx account or using any of the below-listed shipping providers or pay us for the shipping via Paypal. We insist on sending the samples by DHL, FedEx, UPS(Air shipping) only since the cutlery pieces are delicate and need careful transit handling. Samples generally reach in almost all parts of the world in 4-6 working days in a 4kg(by volume box). Yes, it’s big in size but light in weight. Hence the shipping cost. It cost USD 62. We have worked with cheaper International Logistics providers only to hear multiple cases of damages, so we do not insist on using them. We accept Paypal for receiving payments for shipping the sample sets. You will receive email notifications of the tracking details of the consignment once it gets shipped from our warehouse within 24-48 hours of payment confirmation.
Our minimum order quantity is 4000 pieces at the least. I would also insist you read through below to understand how the shipping cost can be estimated for 4000 pieces since the shipping cost using Sea Freight can be quite expensive at lower volumes(less than 15k pieces).
Applicable only if the total consignment load is less than FCL(Full Container Load). A full container load of 20 ft can accommodate around 90,000 pieces -150,000 pieces depending on the sizes of the cutlery ordered. For FCL orders, kindly refer to our FOB Price by whatsapp.
The suggested shipping option is always Sea Freight. Air Freight is quite expensive and costs 200%-300% of the product cost itself and hence is not used other than sending samples.
The landed shipping cost(Sea freight) can be calculated using the below table:
Cost of shipping = Cost to transport to the port(1) + Customs clearance fees at Indian Port (2) + Documents/licenses cost (3) + Sea freight(4) + Customs clearance fees at importing port (5)+ Customs Duty (if any) (6) + Road Shipping cost from Port to desired destination (7)*
The above cost of calculation will be applicable irrespective of which manufacturer/ exporter you buy from. We have had instances/ complaints where the buyers were not clearly explained of the below costs and hence ended up paying quite a hefty sum to import.
(1) This cost is a fixed cost irrespective of the size of the shipment. It is approx. $110 always.
(2) The Fees paid for the customs clearance at Indian Port: It has a fixed and a variable component (approx USD 40 and a variable fee USD 70/CBM).
(3) Includes the mandatory (i)Fumigation certificate (ii)Plant and Quarantine Certificate and (iii) Certificate of Origin: USD 65
(4) The cost of Ocean freight: It is generally in the range of USD 80/CBM -120/CBM depending on the freight carrier, destination port and the volume(no of CBMs). It reduces with increase in CBMs. One CBM(1m*1m* 1m) contains approx 2500 pieces of 10-inch sq plates and varies for every product variety and size.
(5) Customs Clearance fee at the importing port has a fixed and a variable component to it. approx a fixed USD 95 + USD 40/CBM depending on the port.
(6)Customs duty is the duty paid at the importing port. It is generally a percentage (%) of the total invoice value. Generally 2%-4% for most nations but there are provisions in every country to receive a 100% reimbursement on these fees for eco-friendly products like Palm Leaf cutlery. You can refer to the customs department website of the importing nation to find out more on this.
(7)* This is the cost of shipping after shipping the consignment from the importing port after clearance is done to the desired destination. In case of shipping to Amazon FBA warehouses, you can arrange an Amazon pickup service from here using your Amazon Seller Portal. Amazon will take care of pickup and deliver it to the desired warehouse.
As you may have observed, the shipping cost for up to 20,000 pieces or less is quite high. eg: for a 20,000 pieces order of 10inch sq plate, the product cost is USD 2700 at a factory in India. The landed cost at buyers end(the USA, including shipping cost of sea freight, terminal handling costs at both ports, customs clearance costs + local country shipping cost+ other necessary costs) is approx. $1800-$2500(varies based on country and port).That’s almost as much as the product cost itself.
We send bulk shipments comprising of multiple order that we receive within every 15-20 day period to our channel partners in the destination countries. Currently to the USA, Canada, Germany& Spain. Each of these orders is generally in the range of 5000 pieces- 25,000 pieces. The total cost of shipment is then finally divided at larger volumes and hence becomes cheaper than paying a huge shipping cost for small volumes. WIN WIN for all. How does it work? All the shipments get delivered to our Channel partner company in huge container loads. The channel partner will then arrange for local logistics to deliver to your desired destination. We are accepting pre-orders for the next shipment to the USA, Canada, Germany, Spain.
For eg: Consider a situation where only 75% of the container load(100,000 pieces) gets booked, we accept additional orders and send it to our channel partners who eventually distribute to the customer. There have been instances where all volumes with the channel partners get over and you are forced to wait for 25-40 days of shipping. The main benefit of pre-booking is that you are guaranteed stock availability(when it reaches the Channel partner) and end up saving more. This method has resulted in quite a lot of saving for our customers for all volumes.

Our product prices stay constant across volumes. In case of your orders in multiples of FCL’s kindly refer our FOB Price List.
We generally have 20,000-30,000 pieces of each of the varieties in our warehouse all the time. So, the production time can be considered as low as 2-3 days. The time to custom pack according to specific requirement takes an up to a week (at max) for order volumes around 15k-25k pieces. FCL orders take up to 25 days to get ready and shipped post order confirmation.
Yes, we can attach labels to the package. If it is for Amazon Fba in any of the countries, then you may design the label with A7 size with the barcode included in the product label. You may send us the product label designs, carton box labels and Pallets labels along with. The cost/piece for custom labelling and packaging is USD 0.02/piece.
We use different carton boxes for different sizes to ensure maximum utilisation of space. 21inch X 11 inch X 11.5 inch is the most common box. 1 box can accommodate a max 200 pieces of 10inch square plates.
Yes, we can provide DDP Shipping to any warehouse address in any country. Cost applicable to actuals. If you are an Amazon FBA customer, the best way to do this would be to arrange an Amazon FBA pickup service from the port of clearance at the importing city using your Amazon Seller account. Amazon will arrange for pickup and deliver to the FBA since our shipping methods already follow Amazon policies.
For eg: If you are expecting the consignment to end up at Amazon FBA in California, we will send the shipment by Sea freight to the Oakland Port in California. We’d also be connecting you with our local import clearance agent in the respective port, our clearance agent will guide you with the process of clearance(different for different ports around the world) and necessary process at the respective ports. You do not need to be physically present to receive it. The necessary fees(5),(6),(7) from the question above(depending on the port) will be communicated by the agent to you and you may proceed directly transacting with the agent. This has been tested and done many times so you may rest assured if you find it any confusing. In any other case, if you’d prefer avoiding all the above work/ need the shipment quickly, you could directly get in touch with our local Channel Partner and purchase from them directly. Our Channel partners have been established in respective markets to ensure smaller volumes (less than 25k) do not have to pay the huge shipping fees.
A sample of 25 piece pack of any sized product will cost a flat $8 and a shipping fee of USD 62. The reason for the expensive shipping price has been explained above in point 4.
Yes, we do have wooden forks, knives, skewers, spoons, toothpicks(images below). These products are not made in India but imported from China.
A quick tip: If you are planning to add the forks, knives, spoons along with the palm leaf cutleries and offer as a complete solution, then you may have to buy from us. In any case, if you wish to buy them separately and get it shipped to your destination address to segregate/ pack yourself, I’d suggest you import them directly from China to your address since it would be cheaper that way.
Cost of shipping via Sea is 25-40 days depending on which country you import to. For quicker purchase and onboarding, you may get in touch with our Channel Partners, or get in touch with us if you’d like to become a channel partner in your country.
Yes, we do support Escrow facility. Minimum bill is $25000 for the same.
I wish we could. Alibaba currently does not offer Trade assurance services to companies located in India.
We insist on T/T(Telegraphic transfer, Bank transfer). In case you insist on any other mode of payment, the cost of transaction fees would be levied on you. Eg: Paypal charges a total of 7-8% of transaction fees in total (including the transaction fees and currency conversion fees).
All our products come in 5/25/50 items per package. We can customize the quantity to any if needed.
A: The leaves that fall naturally on the ground are collected and washed with fresh water to remove dirt and dust. The leaves are then heat pressed into the desired shapes and sizes. Finally, the plates are cleaned, sterilized, and packaged.
A: No. Only naturally fallen, dry leaves are used for the manufacturing of these products, which are otherwise added to agri-garbage. The raw material sourced is completely sustainable! Its a perfect model of waste to wealth.
A: The leaf is completely natural, therefore colour variations are a normal reflection of this. Since products are not treated with any chemicals or additives, the original colours remain in the products. We only send 100% natural white coloured products to shipments outside India, so you may rest assured.
Moss/Fungus formation happens when the plates bought haven’t been dried completely and hence encourage the growth of such foreign matter. All our products go through a strict ISO 9001:2015 specified process and leave no room for any moss/ fungal growth. For additional safety, every pack is inserted with a piece of moisture absorbent silica gel to absorb any moisture content in the pack.
Yes, you can use the Areca leaf products in the refrigerator. The food will not react with the product material at all.
Yes, we have personally tested our products and when filled with boiling water and left standing at room temperature, they will easily maintain their integrity for well over 45 minutes.
A: Yes, the palm leaf products are significantly more durable than plastic or paper plates. It is also perfectly safe to heat in the microwave for up to 3 minutes.
A: While they are very durable, they are a disposable product and recommended for single use only. If they were only used for light, dry snacks, it may be possible to wipe with a damp cloth, but we do not insist on that. Prolonged submersion in water will cause them to soften, as they are purely natural and not treated with any protective coatings.
A: Our product is 100% biodegradable and compostable. Because there is no bonding agents, wax coatings or chemicals it becomes good organic compost when disposed of.
A: Our products are produced in rural India which generates employment opportunity in the villages. Workers are taken care of with fair wages and safe working conditions.
